My love for creating characters isn't something easily put into words. It has been something that I've done for the majority of my life, from making up imaginary friends when I was small, to creating and developing the people that I put on paper now. Its fantastic to see the way they form as their personalities are brought to light and shaped by the challenges they face and the people they meet. Each character has their own story and bringing them to life so that they can tell it is what I do best.
I am a character designer.
Final Project
Day 1 (9/10/12):
Chose which Principles and Fundamentals to focus on (Emphasis and focal point, color, and texture). Outlined a basic timeline for project completion. Chose a tribal setting, drew out three basic silhouettes and combined peices of them into a first design.
Day 2 (9/14/12):
Developed her further, made her less curvy and more athletic, broke her nose and mutilated her left hand. Drew profile and back views along with six different facial drawings and fighting stance. Came up with a name, Mafoha.
Day 3 (9/17/12):
Flattened her chest a bit, decided on colors, and began to draw and ink the final project.
Final Day (9/20/12):
Finished final project and mounted it. Filmed while drawing to show a bit of my process.
Epilepsy warning. The video is speed up x6 and it gets a bit flashy.
